Placing Dental Crowns
Before placing a crown, Dr. Hochfelder will numb your tooth and the surrounding gum tissue. Then he will then treat the tooth, if needed, and reshape the existing tooth structure to make room for the crown. He will take impressions of your tooth and send them to a dental lab where your crowns will be custom fabricated to fit your tooth and match the color and shape of your surrounding teeth. Dr. Hochfelder has been working with the same highly regarded dental labs for 27 years to ensure that you receive the highest quality restorations possible. Fabricating the crown takes about two weeks. While you are waiting for your crown, the dentist will provide you with a temporary crown. When the restoration is finished, you will return for your second appointment. Dr. Hochfelder will check the fit and secure the permanent crown over your tooth.
