How Veneers Are Placed
Dr. Hochfelder uses two methods to place veneers: traditional and no-prep. Using the traditional method, Dr. Hochfelder will remove a small layer of enamel from the front of your teeth, less than a millimeter deep and about the thickness of the porcelain veneer. Dr. Hochfelder will then make impressions of your teeth and send them to a dental lab, where technicians will create lifelike veneers from top-quality e.max® porcelain. He has been using the same labs for the 27 years he has been in practice, ensuring that you receive high-quality, beautiful veneers. When the veneers are complete, you will return to the office, and Dr. Hochfelder will check the fit and appearance of each veneer. After making any desired adjustments, he will gently etch and buff your teeth to create a better bonding surface. Finally, he will attach the veneer using dental cement.
No-prep veneers do not require the removal of tooth enamel. This is the most popular option for veneers among Dr. Hochfelder’s patients because it leaves the structure of the tooth intact, and is a reversible process.
