Your first dental visit with us consists of a comprehensive oral exam which includes the hard and soft tissues, an oral cancer screening and any necessary digital radiographs. We also will review your medical history and any medications you may be on. We will also discuss any dental concerns, past dental history or questions you have once the exam is completed. This comprehensive appointment takes 1 hour. Should a patient also desire a cleaning at the first visit that can be done also and would add an additional hour to the comprehensive exam increasing the time required to 2 hours. Patients also have the option of scheduling a cleaning as a separate appointment for a 1-hour visit.
We request that you download our health history form and email it to us prior to your appointment time at Angela@lakemarydentistry.com or bring in completed. If you are a new patient and have existing current, good quality radiographs from a previous dentist we may be able to use them. Please have them forwarded to our office PRIOR to your first appointment. This ensures that we determine if any additional radiographs are needed or not.
For those patients seeking our expertise or a second opinion we are also happy to assist you. These appointments typically take 30 minutes. We will discuss a specific tooth or area of your mouth at this time and just focus on your primary concern. These appointments generally do not encompass the entire mouth, but rather a specific area or need. We routinely do a single radiograph at this appointment unless a patient has already had one taken. If so please bring a copy with you so we do not need to take an additional film.
